What’s been improved in Janus 6?

• The number of charts shipped with Janus has been increased to 810 charts in the J6 Charts file.
• You can now select Planet + Planet, Planet + Star, and Star + Star in paran options in the calculate diurnal events and parans module.
• Right Ascension can now be displayed in degrees or hours in the Ephemeris Text and the Ephemeris Grid modules.
• Relocating the natal chart is now optional in the Daily Timing module.

• Angular Separations (Arc Openings and Distances) are now calculated using the selected harmonic in the Aspects module.

Q. Does Janus 6 work on Macs running Windows emulation software such as Crossover or Parallels?

A. Sorry, Janus 6 is incompatible with the various Windows emulation packages designed for the Mac.

Q. When I start Janus, the initial chart is cast for Auckland, New Zealand; how to I change this to my local place?

A. On the Main Screen, click Settings on the menu bar, then select General, and click the Next button to the Current Local Place settings panel. Type your Country or State in the Country/State field and make your selection, then type your city’s name in the City field and select it from the list. The next time you start Janus, the initial, chart will be cast for your local place.

Q. I am replacing my computer; how do I transfer my Janus 6 charts to my new computer?

A. First, use File Explorer to copy all the files in your c:\Program Files (x86)\Astrology House\Janus 6\Charts folder to a USB flash drive. Then plug the USB flash drive into your new computer. Then, use File Explorer to copy all the chart files from your USB flash drive to your c:\Program Files (x86)\Astrology House\Janus 6\Charts folder.

Q. How do I transfer Janus 5 charts from my old computer to Janus 6 on my new computer?

A. Firstly, on your old computer, you must copy all your Janus 5 chart files to a USB flash drive. The path to your Janus 5 charts will be typically c:\Program Files (x86)\Astrology House\Janus 5\Charts. Next, plug the USB flash drive into your new computer. Start Janus 6, and click File > Import Janus 5 charts from the main screen menu. At step 1, click Browse and select the folder on your USB flash drive where you copied your Janus 5 charts. In step 2, select the Janus 5 files you want to import the charts from. Then, at step 3, click Import the charts.
